3. Proven efficacy

3.1 ABTS radical scavenging test

ABTS is a classic and widely used industry method for evaluating antioxidant capacity. The antioxidant capacity of L-Carnosine is as follows,

ConclusionAt 50 mM L-Carnosine (1.13% dosage), the ABTS radical scavenging rate reaches around 85%, demonstrating very strong antioxidant capacity.


3.2 Reduce telomere damage and shortening rate

Lane M: Molecular weight marker, used to determine telomere length. The higher (on the gel), the longer the telomeres.

PDs (Population Doublings): The number of times cells have divided. The more divisions, the older the cells. Under normal circumstances, telomeres shorten as the number of divisions increases.

Results:

Control: Telomeres shortened markedly with increasing PDs, already greatly reduced by PD43.

Carnosine (20 mM): At PD48, telomeres remained significantly longer than controls, with much slower shortening.

Conclusion: L-Carnosine significantly delays telomere shortening in human skin fibroblasts, extending replicative lifespan and slowing cellular aging.


3.3 Anti-glycation, cell protection

Normal fibroblasts – well-spread shape, orderly cytoskeleton (Red & Green), able to produce collagen and elastin.

Glycated fibroblasts – irregular shape, disordered cytoskeleton, large gaps in green, abnormal red clumps, loss of collagen/elastin production.

After 0.25% L-Carnosine treatment (7 days) – cytoskeleton restored to near normal.

Conclusion: L-Carnosine prevents glycation damage and repairs cells, restoring their ability to produce collagen and elastin, achieving anti-glycation and anti-aging effects.

 

3.4 In vivo test with 2% UNIBIO_CARNOSINE cream

Results: 28-day use of 2% UNIBIO_CARNOSINE cream significantly improved skin radiance and reduced crow's feet area.
